A Chance Encounter with the Mad Housewife

Be it divine intervention, fate, good mojo, kismet,
or whatever you might make of it, there she was right in front of me
all mad and hawking her wares in my local Schnucks grocery.

The Mad Housewife.
In the flesh.

It was Derby Day and I needed a dessert for the party.
I might add that we had just come from church,
driving our granddaughter to confession
the day before her First Communion.
That's how I know it must be a sign from above.
Kathy- this wine's for you!
And it was.

I've seen this brand here and there but
never tried it.  Then I nearly collided with the kiosk
smack dab in the middle of the produce department.
Grapes = Wine.  Makes sense, right?

It's Autographed wine nonetheless.
See the heart?  She loves me-or maybe she just loves wine.
It probably makes her less mad,
I know it has made me pretty happy a time or two.

There is a Bonus-
I got an emery board and matches!
When it the last time someone gave out matches?
Cool.

I will say I have not had the wine yet
(remember, I was there getting a dessert)
but I will be trying it.
I just had to brag - I've met the Mad Housewife!!
How awesome is that!

Never heard of her or her wine. Guess I don't get out much and drink even less. But I wonder why she was giving out emery boards and matches? What do they have in common with wine? And what if it was a guy who bought the wine? Most guys don't have any use for an emery board. Well, unless they're fingerpicking guitarists who like to have a little bit of nail to pick with on their picking hand. (It embarrasses the heck out of me buying emery board!)

date night maybe? Matches to light the candles? Nail files are probably for the girl's purse so she remembers the wine when she brings it out to fix a snag. I don't have long nails by choice, it gets in the way of typing and I'm on the computer all day at work but occasionally even short nails need a fix. Have a girl buy your a pack of emery boards, they last a long time.

OR, maybe it's like in the movies where you are sipping wine while soaking in a tub with candles all around. Another thing I've never done but seems to get a lot of play in movies. I wonder how many girls really do that.

I think a lot of women like to soak in the tub. I don't know any who do it with candles though. All candles are good for is getting soot all over the walls. But I suspect at least some women will have to find that out the hard way.

If you wanted to give something away with wine, I would think a coupon for cheese or cigars would be a better deal!
