Radishes- Ready for Eating

The new crop of radishes is ready!  These are nicely spicy, not horribly hot unless you eat an entire one in one bite.  I planted them as soon as the dirt was ready and within a month they are ready.

We're sending a couple down to my father in law today.  We're under a freeze warning tonight, after several weeks of temperatures in the 80s, all the way up to 90!  These guys will be just fine.  In fact, in a couple of days I'll add some new seed and get ready for the next crop.

Look how pretty these are with their rainbow colors.  I can see a white one is almost ready.

I found some radish recipes here .  I'll have to try them out- especially the Texas coleslaw,Yum!

Your radishes look really good. Not heard of this mix, but it looks interesting.
I wish radishes liked me. I like them, but they are hard on my tummy.

Have a great evening!

My husband love Radishes. I plant them every year for him.

My mom always had radishes on the Sunday supper table. We always ate them cold with salt. Delish. I just looked through my seed packets and I forgot to get radishes. I'll have to put that on my list.~Ames

I really don't care for radishes. At all. But feel obligated to plant them, not sure why. DH eats them in his salad, but that's about it. I do like how they are almost instant-gardening-gratification though. Scatter seeds, and in a month, food! :)

I always buy the radish seed "blends" too, it's fun to see all the different colors! I made braised radishes awhile back, they were good, I recently started grating them into chicken salad and tuna salad too. They are such a great tasting and easy crop to grow! :)

Thanks! I ran across these seeds in the garden center in Washington, MO. They stock some regular and heirloom seeds, this brand in particular.

I have only had them in salads so I'm up for trying something new. Picked three more today and I'll plant after the weekend again since we're supposed to get storms. Rumor has it there may be some really bad storms between Kansas/Missouri all the way to TX.

I keep hearing salt and also salt with butter. I have to give this a try!
