Organic Weed Control- Oh Deer!

Tonight I discovered we have, in our very own yard,
an organic, all natural weed control.
The Three Deer that patrol the grounds
in search of delectable garden delights.
They stopped by the turtle sandbox, which
without its lid, serves as water cooler
 for the deer population.
A great place to gather and chat about
that handsome buck down the way.

Hey- what's that in the background

They had been munching in the side yard,
just below the living room window.
I took some photos -
Through the screen again (of course).
See the ears starting to stand up?
They can hear the tone my camera makes
when I turn it on; however, they
couldn't figure out where it was coming from.
Not to worry, the chickens are still calm,
things must be OK.

You're sort of crossing the line there, aren't you?

This is serious!
We'll have to set up some barriers.
This is the  spinach/lettuce/radish garden so you know
things are going to get really tasty, and soon!

I gave up growing Christmas trees, in part, because I couldn't protect them all from West Virginia's out-of-control deer herd. It's definitely time for some barriers in your garden!

A six or seven foot fence, with a wire or some such about three to four feet away (?), I think I read, will help keep them out of gardens, but I'm not certain.

If only they would stick to the weeds!

Have a blessed weekend! ♥

Before I built my pallet fence, I used to watch deer walk through the garden and eat the weeds. They would sometimes eat bean plants and ripe corn but seemed to actually like the weeds.

I don't know what's more alarming: that deer have wandered into your garden, or that you actually eat spinach on purpose!

I had to run off our "herd" last week because they were nibbling on my rose bushes and eyeing the fruit trees.

Yes, we eat spinach! LOL. Popeye was a great influence on me.

They ate all our beans last year when the fishing line surrounding the bed broke!
