Before and After - Saving the Family Furniture
A Dresser for Taylor's Room
My husband has been working on restoring this dresser
(after much begging and pleading by me).
The before photo isn't really representative of
what is looked like originally.
He spent days and days just getting the drawers back in shape.
Then sanding and gluing,
pinning joints back together with brads
and clamping everything until it dried.
He painted it with oil based white
and we selected pretty pink porcelain knobs.
The knobs were originally brass but missing parts
and in very bad shape.
We were missing one of them as well.
Her favorite color is pink.
I think she'll be pleased.
Stay tuned:
I'll be posting about the three mirrored make up table next.

This is so ever loverly....he did a beautiful job..and the pink porcelain knobs...perfect.
He did a great job Kathy! It is beautiful. I have some of my grandmother's furniture and I sure don't like the shape it is in. It sits in storage and you make me want to pull it out and do something with it. Thanks!

Thank you. It helps that he's a carpenter and, although does any type of carpentry, is especially good at cabinet making and doing all sorts of fancy trims in houses. Work is very very slow so he had some time to devote to it.
Thank you. When we saw the pink knobs, I knew those were the ones!
Wow, what a transformation! It is simply beautiful!! Tell him he did a wonderful job! :)
That looks so cute. I love that you preserved the dresser. The fact that it was painted before helps when trying to decide to paint a piece of furniture... I love the mirror on this dresser.
I have a 3 mirrored dressing table I hope to be 're-doing' soon.
