Scraps- An Unexpected Gift and Bonus Find

It's Monday and you know what that normally means.
Back to Work.
Wake up Early.
Long Drive.

What a great surprise today!
A co-worker was gifted some sewing/quilting/crafting items
from yet another co-worker.
She didn't need all of it so guess what?!
She asked if I wanted it.
Oh yes, Thank You!!!

There were several items from a large bag of threads,
buttons, piping and rick rack.
Plus four fabrics:
The red and dark green plaids are very wide strips and heavy material.
The other two are regular cottons and one is definitely vintage.

Does anyone remember a KMART fabric center?
This has the original tag.
Maybe it was Kresge or Jupiter?

Cranston Print Works USA
VIP Print
Does anyone know when this may have been sold?
Cranston is still selling fabric.  Maybe they can tell me.

My next surprise was from a scrap bag I had purchased
at my local quilt shop  when she cleaned out her
back room.  Six years of accumulated stuff.
Among other items I had half square triangles!
These were from a BOM that I loved
but was already involved in another.  There are several HSTs and
some half rectangles plus bits and pieces of the fabric.

There's another set of coordinating colors that might have been
used on the same BOM but they are whole.

There is even two different sizes of these vege HSTs, 3 inch and 2 inch.
Maybe it was a class because a few still have the Thangles templates attached.

This is going to be fun figuring out what to do with them.
Any ideas?
Free on line patters for scraps?

Such fun!

What a nice surprise! That pink floral kmart fabric is so pretty!

A few years ago, I would have been thrilled to receive these -- now, not so much. But I think an apron would be cute out of that pink fabric! :)

Thank you, I think so too.

Yes, an apron might be really nice and I do have a pattern upstairs. I'm just a beginner so I am grateful for anything extra! I know someone who has an entire finished basement dedicated to crafts and quilting. I've never seen so many full wall height shelves upon shelves full of fabric unless it was commercial. Someday I'd love to have enough to just pick what I need and make something!

Love the vintage pink material, I think Nancy has a great idea with the apron!
Could you make the scrap blocks into potholders or pillows or even tote bags? What a neat bag of goodies! :)
