It's Alive!
What was that thump in the night?
That creaking, squeaking of cabinet doors,
the feeling that something was not right.
and you were not alone.
What lurks in the depths?
In the cover of darkness?
And it's big!
A mere sweet potato in its prime.
Now, not so sweet anymore.
It's a terrible shame
Potatoes gone bad!
When did this happen?
It was a rock hard sweet potato the other day
and then there it was
hiding behind the flour
growing like crazy.
I wonder if it will " take" if it plant it?

You could grow it inside all winter if you have a sunny window and then put it outside in the spring.
What if it sprouts legs and comes creeping into your bedroom at night? Would Bird defend you or would she flee to save herself?
She would jump out of her tub and sprawl on the floor. Get up and shake herself off and then walk in to the wall, back up, go in circles a few times, and try the other direction. She'd trip over some shoes and get stuck beneath a chair. The sweet (mean) potato would laugh so hard that it would pop the legs right off of itself. We'd quickly pick it up, peel it and boil it up!
In the spring I hope for sprouting potatoes to seed my new garden, but now this early in the season. I was thinking the other day I might like to try growing some sweet potatoes, but don't know if my climate is good enough. - Margy
Well, poor bird has a noble heart!
