A Pumpkin Picking Princess

 Pumpkin picking time was here,
one down, several to go.
Taylor chose her favorite of the bunch.
This one is to take home,
the rest are for cooking!

Not a large harvest,
but as some of you know--
a surprise patch of pumpkins
that I thought would be acorn squash!
 I can't complain.

I haven't seen many pumpkins for sale here, I don't think it was a good year. I got a few butternut squash but that was about all.

LOL, she's so cute. We're going to go picking next week.

Manny- thank you!

Sunnybrook- these were growing in the lettuce garden which is next to the house and is quite small. They got plenty of water whereas the big garden did not- after our Spring floods and the the summer heatwave.

Acorn squash would have been nice, but so are pumpkins for the Fall holidays! :)

Pumpkins are fun - I have unripe gourds that have taken over everything. Note to self, plant gourds on opposite side of property next year:)

Pumpkins are a big part of Fall. We will probably get a couple and set out by a bale of hay. Nobody will see them but my wife and I, but she likes to decorate like that.
