A few of the girls gathered at our neighbor's house for a painting party yesterday. It was the perfect day for it since we were recovering from five inches of snow.
We had an inspiration painting to start from and then each of "The Masters" would create their own interpretation of the painting.
There is no right or wrong, thankfully, just some good times!
We had big leaves, medium leaves, small leaves, a varying amount of trees and all sorts of suns. We also has some great appetizers!! It was a pretty nice afternoon, it sure beats plowing and shoveling!
My hard drive finally crashed so I am working with the tablet which takes a whole lot longer. I also need to figure out how to reduce photo size or I will limit out on space.
I will try to catch up on the blogs but hope we can get a computer soon!!!!

OMG, what a GREAT idea! I may steal it and use it before winter breaks for a "Winter Break" with some girlfriends. Thanks for the inspiration & beautiful paintings!

I like your paintings. My son paints, but I have no artistic ability at all. He must have gotten it from his mom's side o the family.
I am not a painter but we had a pretty good time considering we didn't have a teacher to watch. I did take a couple of painting classes back when Michaels was Lee Wards I think. It was those happy painter, Bob Ross, paintings. Most of it was technique and which brushes or knives to use to get the effects you want. Considering I have very little talent, they didn't come out too badly. I can see with practice that you could make a decent painting using that method.
I just like messing around with crafts, not hoping to be good, just having fun.
Your photos are fairly large in dimension but also are barely compressed. I downloaded one of them and it was at about 90% compression which is hardly any at all. Compress them to no more than 75% and the file size will be cut in about half from what they are at 90%. I know it doesn't sound logical, but it's true. Cutting the dimensions down a little will help even more. The only image programs I can recommend are PhotoImpact and PhotoShop. You could always use free GIMP as well, but it's much harder to learn.
And tell that ole man of yours that he should consider making Pool Cues. I would think that would be right up his alley. A good professionally made cue generally sells from between $100 - 300. Predator makes a few that sell for over $2,000.
Other than on this post I normally go into the Microsoft program through the windows photo viewer and select resize and small 800 x 600 or whatever the closest size is. The ones from the painting party were taken with my tablet and there is nothing I can do to change them on that tablet. Now that we have the new laptop I can start to resize again.
