Ebelskiver Find

As I was walking through the aisle of the St Vincent de Paul Thrift
shop looking for more strawberry plates to go with my vintage set,
I saw an unusual pan sitting on the shelf and rushed over to grab it
before anyone else did.  Someone thought it was egg cookware,
others just didn't have any idea -- but I did.

It's an Ebelskiver pan!

I have been wanting one of these for years.
This one was priced at $3.50 and looks like it has been
on the shelf since just before Christmas.

It is a Nordic Ware Cast Aluminum pan priced on line at $50.
You can see the Link here
And how to cook on it here

They are little Danish pancake balls that can be filled with a wide variety
of fillings from fruit to cheese or other sweet fillings.  I can't wait to try them!

That is so cool. I would have been one of those who thought it was for eggs:) How do you know that word? Danish heritage? What a great find.

There should be a recipe for the pancakes in the cookbook from Solvain. They are a lot of fun to use. But it does take some practices.

There is! I have the cookbook sitting next to the pan right now. It's a little different than the on line recipe but I think it's things that you would normally have about the house. I'm going to try this over the weekend! Thanks again, that cookbook sure has come in handy.

I would be one to think you cook eggs in it...
in fact, I've passed one up I think...because of that very thought.
good for you knowing what it is...and know that you wanted it, without hesitation!
...I sometimes get buyers remorse.
But not when I know what I'm shopping for... KNOW IS HALF THE BATTLE!
