Pumpkins and Grape Vines

Pumpkin Puree time.
Fall finally hit with a couple of killing frosts
which has put an end to most of the plants but
the most cold tolerant.
I picked most of the pumpkins and brought them inside.
I've got plans for pumpkin cake in the very near future.

My neighbor, Simone, made a wreath out of
the grape vines when we pulled up our grape plants.
They had amazing fruit but we couldn't stay ahead
of the annual black rot that is so common here.
I took a trip to the attic and grabbed some of my
Fall decorations to wrap the wreath in leaves,
flowers and nuts.  It needs a bow or something
so I will have to keep digging through my tubs.

I still have this problem.
I may have to have my husband saw it out if
I want to try saving it!

I still have to figure out what to do with Green Pumpkins.
Will they turn orange inside and still taste good?
Are there green pumpkin recipes?

These two have turned about half way orange
so maybe they will finish off inside?

These are my burning bushes that line the side of the house.
You can see them behind the pumpkin that has grown into the
cattle fencing. I love the beautiful red color it turns in the Fall.

Nice wreath, pretty bush; wish I could tell you about the pumpkins. Maybe you could type it into google as a question; I've gotten some pretty good links at times doing that.

The pumpkin in the fence cracks me up! How in the world do we miss things like that? I don't know if the green ones will 'ripen' after being picked or not. Let us know what you find out.

Your burning bushes are gorgeous!
No experience with pumpkin other than supposedly chickens love them and are a great natural wormer for them- as in it keeps them from getting them. Or so I have read.
Have a great week!

LOVE the wreath. I keep meaning to do something with all the abundant wild grape vines that we have here (and occasionally have to take down). Maybe one day I'll get around to making a wreath.
