Squash Babies

Squash babies!
These are my cattle panel trained vines
and so far, very few squash bugs
nothing like the ones that trail on the ground.

Although our weather can only be called Wet,
we are trying to keep at least part of the garden
going with squash and tomatoes doing well.
I don't know what happened to the cukes
unless it was just too wet and cool.

We definitely don't live in the same neck of the woods. Wet and cool are foreign ideas here! I'll gladly share some sunshine. Hope your garden does well, despite the weather.

Our squash bugs probably floated away last night, lots of rain here in VA. I have seen more Japanese beetles this year than squash bugs, strange.

I wanted to plant some zucchini this year, but things got kind of messed up this spring with my schedule. Maybe next year. - Margy

Oh that squash looks great. Is that zuccini squash? We grew some wonderful huge zucchini squash last year in the Hugelkulture bed...this None. I'm thinking of bringing that bed back!

our cukes..ravaged by the hoppers. We have tomatoes but now it is getting so hot, they've stopped putting on blooms. If I can keep them alive until the fall, I'll get tons of great delicious tomatoes. I hope. I've noticed the grasshoppers don't eat the tomato plants. :D yay!

I didn't get any zucchini or yellow squash, actually what I planted didn't do anything due to how much rain we had, things died. I bought a couple variety of squash so it could be butternut, spaghetti or acorn.
