Christmas ornaments-
some old, some new,
some torn and ragged,
that's my tree.
It's the same tree we've had since we got married,
holding memories through the decades
and creating new memories for the future.
This pretty fabric pine cone was made by my co-worker,
who would have thought grey would be so pretty on the tree!
A a trio of crochet angel spreads their wings,
sent by my grandmother years ago.
Handmade animals showing their age.
A vintage clip on golden, plastic bird
has adorned the tree for years and years
Always the children's favorite,
squeeze his mouth and find
the chocolate (kiss) treasure inside.
A crowned clothes pin ornament,
sequence missing and showing it's age.
This is actually an ornament I made as a child.
It's maybe 40 years old,
and a bit squashed!
Still, it hangs on my tree.
A pretty pony
A battle scarred soldier.
Yes, I have some lovely, newer ornaments
but I wanted to share some of my memories
with you all so this was
Just a glimpse of my tree.
Part 1
What's on your tree?

I have three cats and a toddler.....the question should be, "What's UNDER your tree?"
Hehe!
Beautiful ornamnets. Merry Christmhas. Ailime
I have several of these .I have ornaments on my tree from when my oldest was 5. She is now 33 . One of my favorite is a little teddy bear one of my twins painted when she was three. It's purple and pink stripes, but beautiful to me. All my kids are grown now. These ornaments let me hold on to a little bit of their youth.
LOL, I get that one; however, IN you tree still works in my case. One of our cats would climb in the middle of the branches and sleep. It was the prettiest ornament we had although not the easiest to manage. I had to work all the other ornaments around her, which is also why the tree is always tied to something!
Merry Christmas to you as well!
Awwww. Did you post about it? I'd love to see them.
Memories...of Christmas past. I like you have a hodge podge of ornaments, no matching color scheme, ryhme or reason. Ours is a mixture of the treasured kids ornaments they made, my crochet snowflakes & angels I've acquired along the way, ornaments bought in the first year of our marrige, and vintage shiny brights from my childhood. A mixutre of old and new...creating memeories for the next generation..A treasure trove, each year exciting as we decorate our tree.
I LOVE traditional ornaments. I consider these some of my most treasured things which date from when my children, most of which are grown, were small. Thanks for posting these.
I love all your well-loved ornaments! They are always the best! :)
So cute! My parents have ornaments on their tree that my sisters and I made when we were little. I'm amazed they are still in one piece!
I have clear lights and gold ball ornaments on my tree. That's it! Going for a simple natural look this year.
