Versatile Blogger Award and Awardees

Heidi at My Simple Country Living has awarded me with the Versatile Blogger Award! Thank you so very much! Now I better step up my game. I've been a bit under the weather so posting has been limited; however, the next chapter of our preparedness education will be Storm Spotters, a perfect companion to our CERT training, and my husband's new ham radio license. Stay tuned!

Here are the RULES for the Versatile Blogger Award-

1. Add the award to your blog.
2. Thank the blogger who gave it to you.
3. Mention seven random things about yourself. (see below)
4. List the rules.
5. Award to 15 bloggers.
6. Inform each of those 15 by leaving a comment on their blog.

Here are seven random things about me...

1. I am going to study for my ham radio ticket, grudgingly because it's been ages since I was in school.
2. My favorite food is pizza, pepperoni to be specific- thin crust.
3. My favorite decorating scheme would use fall colors.
4. I have a hard time tolerating children that have not been taught how to be respectful or to properly behave in public.
5. I am married to my Jr. High School boyfriend- no, he's not in Jr. High- we've dated since 1974 when I was 14 and will celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary this May.
6. I am half Danish on my dad's side and DAR/First Families of Virginia on my mom's (although I am not active in those organizations).
7. I never knew how to do anything domestic such as cooking, sewing, crafts, etc. until a couple of years ago.

Now it's my turn to pass the honor. To steal a paragraph from Heidi's blog:
To complete the process I have compiled my list of 15 blogs that I know you'll agree are worthy of this honor too. Each of these blogs contribute something special to our little blogging community and each of the bloggers behind these blogs offer their unique perspective and experience on many complex issues that are important to me. Since I have to choose, here are my VERSATILE BLOGGER AWARDEES, in alphabetic order (omitting any already awarded by Heidi).

I have so many that I love but they are very specific to one topic: quilting, crafts, tutorials or religion so that doesn't quite fit. I wish I could add everyone!

Cat Patches Quilting, cooking and gardening. I will say Amazing Quilts!

Common Sense Homesteading Some great topics, tutorials and words of wisdom on how to live a healthy life.

Deb's Ramblings from the Homestead will give you tips on gardening, homemaking, recipes, etc.

Hickery Holler Farm Canning, homemade alternatives, household tips, crafts

Girl Raised in the South will entertain you with some creative writing, recipes and photos of some pretty puppies!

Jenny Matlock Jenny's blog is great, a little family, a lot literary. It allows you to see other perspectives when given a prompt, be it a picture or phrase, You can break out of your mold and see how a simple photo might be one thing to someone and something completely different to another- a reminder that others might view us in the same manner.

The Little Way. She can always make you thinks twice when you feel like you've been stepped on just one too many times. Offer it up, remember that all the little things add up and can have great impact.

Michelle's Little Piece of Heaven is another at the top of my list. I hope she doesn't have the same problem that I do- we read many of the same blogs!

Mooberry Farm Homestead. Fried bread! Can it get better? She has tutorials, can speak about livestock, recipes, crafting and so much more.

On Just A Couple Acres for tips, recipes, family, remedies, etc.

Ozark Mountain Family- a great place to stop off for some seed tips, a give away, recipes. Great photos!

Rogue Artists. I have really come to enjoy her writing plus all of the artwork she displays- and creates herself.

Simple Pleasures. Some tips on being frugal, nice photos, a very pleasant blog visit.

Thoughts From Taylor's Outback As her blog says: quilting, shelties, gardening, books, travel.

Willow Homestead and Hometown Victory Girls. You have to take a look- the sewing is, well, something I can't do but would love to. Check out the pin up girl embroidered kitchen towel.

YahooBuckaroo- he will probably never accept. This guy is a gem, well versed in music, literature and wouldn't hesitate to start up a controversial discussion. On top of it he's strongly opinionated. I'm not all peaches and cream and Yahoo shakes it up once in awhile

It is way past bedtime but I wanted to get these all down, unfortunately I probably can't tell them until tomorrow! Won't they be surprised if they take a peek here.

I would love to accept! The problem is, I don't spend enough time reading blogs to know fifteen other bloggers to pass the award on to! I will start the search immediately though! PS - I had what appeared to be another fabulous award in my Junk Mail folder this morning. It was titled: "Best XXXXX (edited by Kathy for the sake of kids and church going young ladies)." Sadly—it was no award.

LOL! Yahoo- I sort of edited your comment for the sake of the families but yes, I seem to have those awards in my Spam folder too but I don't qualify.

And congratulations on yours as well. It is a problem when we love the same blogs, isn't it. You've got a good sized blog list, surely you have 15 to select? Fifteen takes awhile to link up and contact too.

Kathy - thanks so much for thinking of me. I'm rather up to my eyeballs in alligators at the moment, so I don't know when I might be able to make time for this, but I appreciate it.

I just checked my blog spam queue, and there were some truly bizarre items in there.

Bu...bu...but...I used my best dictionary language and everything. There's just no pleasing a Catholic mom. I don't get it. Catholic girls were always so hot to trot in high school. Then as soon as they get married--boom--instant prude! LOL

Thank you Kathy for this recognition! I have been so far behind in posting any regular entries and visiting blogs...overwhelmed with what is in the sewing room and household chores (that month long basement cleanout!) and we have been touring numerous RV dealers looking for a possible upgrade to our aging trailer. Have reached a point with all of this - as they say "fish, or cut bait." Hoping to get back to some sort of normal routine eventually.

Your posting about the Y seams is showing a lovely quilt in progress and seams that look very nice and flat...very pretty colors!

What I did to get the button was to right click on it and say Save As (name it and save to your documents). Then I uploaded it like a photo for the blog post. To get it to be on the side bar I had to go to Design at the top of your screen and to the right. Then you get the Blogger Edit Layout page. I selected ADD A GADGET and then a box pops up. Scroll down until you see PICTURE and click the + sign. A new box will open. Select IMAGE and then Choose File. Find you file and select it. Then I think you say SAVE. It will show up on your sidebar or wherever your layout has Gadgets. If you don't want it where it is you can drag it up or down when you are in the DESIGN EDIT LAYOUT page. If it doesn't work I can take some screen shots and e-mail it to you.
