Sitting by the Fire

I have had absolutely nothing to say lately other than
It's Cold

Strange weather we are having this year.
Iced in one weekend then 73 degrees the next.
Snow the following week and even more this weekend.
How can you plan for this?

So we started up the wood stove again.
It's been running 24 hrs for the last two months.
I just sit by it and make my granny squares.
Quilt a bit and then back to the granny squares.
If this weather keeps up I'll have an afghan in no time!

I like to sit by my stove and sew on my portable table and I love your beautiful granny squares.

Same here with our wood furnace, I have not had to start the fire since last fall. I just throw in some newspaper and kindling and it fires back up. It will be nice to let it cool off and do some maintenance and a cleaning. Going into the teens and lower then next two nights.

It's just been brutal this winter. That fireplace (or is it a wood stove?) looks great. We're getting another artic like night and then day tomorrow.

They are looking great - only sad part is can't call them squircles. I still like that word. I hear you on the weather, but our high has only been upper 40's. Hauling wood is only exciting to light the first fire of fall when we romanticize about how beautiful the falling snow will be. Four months later the charm of it wears off a bit:)
Keep well.

I'm glad to see you are doing alright. I always worry when somebody doesn't post for awhile. It's 3:40 in the morning here, 18 degrees outside and supposed to be snowing. Looks like it could start any minute.

I think the only thing you can plan on is don't plant until after the last frost. ;-)

Be safe and stay warm!

Thanks everyone for all the comments. I'll be back in the swing of things soon, probably iced in this Sunday. They already told us to be prepared to work from home.
