Look at the Pretty Kitty!

This is a kitty.
On most days, he's a bundle of love and joy
(unless you are another male cat)
 Pet him,
let him sit on your lap.

This is NOT a pretty kitty.
Beware!

When my daughter was small, still in diapers,
we took the pop up camper to a local lake .
As we were walking across the campground around dusk
my daughter called out,
"Look at the pretty kitty!"
and tried to run after it.

OH OH.
Not a pretty kitty!
A skunk!

That's our long standing joke
but lately it's been coming back to haunt us,
double trouble in fact.
Now the pretty little (limping) skunk has a beau
and he too comes to eat and drink the cats' leftovers.
My poor husband has to use the basement door
more than ever when it's time to put up the chicks.

My husband is funny too.
When the new one showed up he told me to be careful
That's not OUR skunk!

I guess babies are probably on the horizon!

I'm glad they came to your house and not somebody else s. Too many of these stories end up with "and then I shot them, or trapped them, or poisoned them." I like this ending better.

Sounds like trouble is on the way. Can you slowly move the food away from the house.

Well, I'm not sure what I'd do. Skunks around here ususally mean chicken deaths. But if I were a crazy person (ok, a REALLY crazy person), and didn't have small livestock to protect from them, I'd LOVE to have a pet skunk (somehow de-smelled)!

Hmmm...Harry wouldn't have liked the end of the story at our house! ;)

My neighbor (when I was a kid) had a pet skunk that was supposedly deskunked or whatever they call it. It was sort of like a cat, roaming the house but it did retain a little bit of the smell.

Cute story, and look at that little "stinker" right there helping themselves to some viddles. Good thing you have an alternative route into the house.
Thank you for stopping at my place and leaving comments, it's so much fun when we can chit chat.. shawl is working so far....directions which work do help out. I'm pretty good at moving the hook, but cannot turn
make what isn't there to do.
