Saturday Centus Over at Jenny Matlock

Pumpkins, Pumpkins

In the Autumn pumpkins grow,

Tendrils stretching to and fro.

Soon, frost is on its way,

Jack-o’lanterns for a day.

Pumpkin's, pumpkin's pretty row,

How I love to watch you grow.

(Jack-o-lantern is one word per the dictionary- hope it's right or I'm over!)

    Thanks for the pass! Fall is my favorite time of year: bonfires on our side lot, leaves turning those beautiful shades of red/orange/yellow, pumpkins and mums. I found a gorgeous pumpkin colored leaf at a park a few years ago. I took it to the paint store and they matched it for my living room!

    Very nice Kathy. We got our little two year old Matthew a plastic pumkin. You should hear how he says the the word: "pum-pum." ;) I can't wait to take him pumpkin picking.

    beckyp: The dictionary hyphenates it and counts it as one. Since yours did not have hyphens it would have been counted as three. I tried it in Word and had the same results.

    Off topic question; do you guys hunt ginseng? I was thinking of going out to my grandparent's old place in the Indiana boonies to hunt some where I know they had it growing on the hill out back. I was just wondering if you've noticed whether or not the ginseng was getting berries yet or not. It's a lot easier to spot the plant when it's got the berries on it. It's about that time of year when they get them.

    No, I've never done that but it sounds like something I'd like to do. I think we looked into that a long time ago because our land is suited for it. I think it was ginseng. I will have to look around to see if we do have any growing wild. I hope you get some!
